about

if that is the case however, the man that he met is kind of creepy.

taking a hiding (taking a hiding is Scottish slang for being beaten) as a child is referring to him being beaten when he was younger and him learning to pretend he didn't care.

covering up your vulnerabilities to the world.

the kid who's sort of an outcast, who no one wants to play with or hang out with on the playground. The kid is trying to make the best of it.

This has led him to put up this loving no-one front as a sort of defence against the world, to protect himself from people, because abused children can develop problems with being loved and accepting people, and to justify his loneliness.

This is a good song to listen to when I'm in a bad mood, it just makes me feel like sulking makes you look silly.

an indifferent man. not unloved at all. maybe loved by many. just perhaps maybe life has made him like this hollow husk...but i dont think he is sad by it. i think he is content, like he has one up on others as he doesn't have love to worry about.

this is what i think. because that is how i think. i dont love anyone. well, maybe my family.

its obviously a very proud song. This makes a good mantra.

but the REAL clincher is that Lawrence wrote a beautiful, delicate song called "The World Is As Soft As Lace." So I think that at the end of the song Stuart is marvelling at how someone could write a song such as that and ironically not love anyone at all.

I have to agree w/ my little needle.
never thought of that before.

those moods everyone goes through when we're mad at the human race and we think we don't love anyone. But deep down inside, everyone loves Christmas...

a young kid who doesn't have any friends/playmates, and tries to shrug it off by saying that he doesn't love anyone -- he doesn't like people in general

not even christmas!?!?
haha cute song

Is the fun empty or is it something that's missing? I think i prefer to think of it being missed, but that's just me
